In Elfenland, young elves have to pass a very special test before they are accepted as grown-ups. All elf girls and elf boys receive a map of Elfenland, and they have to visit as many famous towns in Elfenland as possible, using the common types of transportation: dragons, unicorns, giant pigs, elfcycles, troll wagons, magic clouds, ferries and rafts. These types of transportation, however, are available in limited numbers and can only be used in specific regions. Thus, an exciting race starts among the elves to find out who will make the best use of the available transportation. The one to visit the most towns will win the game.
The game is played in four rounds. On each round, players are dealt a hand of cards that indicate which transportation types they may use in that round, and how often. Basically, cards become tickets that allow players to traverse a given path using a given transportation method. Each player is then given the chance to lay down a marker on a path that determines what type of transportation may be used over that path during that round. Players continue laying markers on paths until they either pass or have no more markers to place. Then each player tries to use the cards in his hand to visit as many towns as he can in that round. At the end of four rounds, the winner is the player who has managed to visit the most unique towns throughout the game.
This is a fantastic game for families. It's easy to learn and quick to play, yet there is enough subtlety involved that playing it well is definitely harder than it might appear at first sight. Box Contents:6 Elf boots
